The Special Edition version of the first series Diablo was presented in 1993 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini. It was a lightweight, more powerful 2-wheel drive version of the Diablo VT model introduced that same year. Production was limited to 150 cars and it could be converted to a GT-championship race car by installing the Jota upgrade kit.
Externally it could be distinguished from "regular" Diablos by the typical gill-shaped air intakes on the sides and a special badge on the rear. But most striking was the special color, unique to the SE30: a metallic purple named "Lambo 30". In my opinion it epitomizes the flashy supercars of 1990s. Though the SE30 could be had in other paint colors on request.
