For those who really don't like to stop for gas Volkswagen offers the XL1: a plug-in hybrid with a small 2-cylinder diesel engine. It's rated to use less than 1 liter of diesel every 100 kilometer. The streamlined and lightweight 2-seater body is made of carbon fiber and plastic and allows the car to reach up to 160 kph.
The big downside to this car is its hefty price tag.
