Wainer Fiat 1100 FJ 1959
2018 Techno Classica - Essen (D)

Wainer was a small racing car manufacturer based in Milan, Italy, lead by Gianfranco Mantovani. The cars were sometimes referred to as Wainer-Mantovani. Their first car appeared in 1958 in the Formula Junior class, a rear engined design like the car shown here. It used many standard parts produced by Fiat to keep it affordable.
In later years Wainer progressed into Formula 3, the last produced racing car being the Wainer 893, driven by Franco Forini in the 1989 Italian Championship.
