The Type 412 was a racing car with the V12 engine from the 12C-37 Grand Prix monoposto in a 8C 2900 A chassis. Apparently 4 were made in 1939, of which 2 were fully completed. In 1951 one of these cars was crashed in a race and its original spider body by Touring badly damaged. Carrozzeria Vignale created a new lightweight body for this car. Ultimately the car was dismantled by Enrico Nardi in 1960 and its parts used for different projects.
The car shown here is a recreation of this lost unique Alfa Romeo, but now based on a 1946 6C 2500 SS chassis.
