This civilian version of the archetypic Russian jeep, also known under its type number 469B, was assembled for the European continent by German company Baijah Automotive from 2003 till 2007. Originally this assembled model was sold as the Tigr, but after complaints of GM, who thought this name resembled their Tigra model name too much, it was renamed into Taigah. In Russia a slightly modernized version is still being produced as the UAZ Hunter.
