This unusual T-top 2-seater coupe SUV probably was way ahead of its time. At the time it was met with derogative criticism and it was only built for 3 years after which production stopped without a replacement. Just over 10 years later the BMW X6 was introduced as a novel "sports activity coupe", essentially a coupe shaped SUV. For BMW it proved to be a big success, the car of choice for those with a slumbering inferiority complex.
I prefer this fun X-90, which must be the ideal beach car.
