MG Q Midget 1934
2017 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)

The Q-type Midget was the special competition version of the regular MG PA Midget, introduced a few months after the PA Midget was unveiled. The Q-type had the same small 0.8 Litre engine as the PA but now a sizeable supercharger was added to it, located in front under the grill. With that it could produce up to 147 hp, four times as much as the output of the regular engine. It amounted to about 200 hp per litre displacement, which was unique at its time.
Even though it was powerful, competitive and relatively affordable, only 8 Q-type Midgets were sold. But those did enjoy years of successful racing in pre-war Britain.
