Peugeot 301 CR 1934

After the successful introduction of the compact 201 model in 1929 the similarly lined but larger middle-class 301 model followed in 1932. It featured independent front suspension, which was still quite unusual for mass-produced cars at the time, and was built in 3 series until 1936. The 2nd series (1933-1934) shown here is the least common and distinguished by a stylish slanted and curved radiator shell. That style was continued by the 3rd series in 1934 but with lower placed headlights which made it look more upmarket, possibly inspired by contemporary Panhard models.
In 2012 Peugeot reintroduced the 301 designation, again for an affordable middle-class car.
