Lancia Astura S4 241 Tipo Bocca cabriolet by Pininfarina 1938
2018 Antwerp Concours - Wijnegem (B)

Lancia's top of the line model before 1940 was the Astura, powered by a 3 liter narrow angle V8 engine. Even more special were the "Tipo Bocca" versions made by coachbuilder Pininfarina on the Astura chassis. They were named after Franco Bocca, a Lancia dealer in Vercelli, Italy. He ordered several batches of beautifully styled Astura cabriolets for his high class customers. All were similarly lined but uniquely detailed designs, mostly by Mario Revelli de Beaumont.
This particular car was ordered by a Swedish diplomat stationed in Rome, who drove it home to Sweden just before the outbreak of war.
