This special version of the 170 S cabriolet B was an open police personnel carrier (in German "Offener Mannschaftswagen Polizei"). Up to 8 policemen could be deployed in this vehicle. Apparently only 7 of these were made by the Mercedes Benz coach-works in Sindelfingen, and this car is likely to be the only one left.
