Oakland Model K tourer 1910
2018 InterClassics - Maastricht (NL)

Oakland was an US car manufacturer established in 1907 as an offshoot of the (then) Pontiac Buggy Company. It became part of the General Motors concern in 1910. The Model K was still an original Oakland design and only available in model years 1910 and 1911. It was powered by a large 4 cylinder engine of 5.4 liters, producing 40 hp.
History came around full circle in 1932 when Oakland was merged with and renamed into Pontiac, a name re-introduced by General Motors in 1926. This car has been known from the Long Island Auto Museum in New York but has been in the Netherlands since 1992.
