TVR Griffith 200 SCCA 1964
2015 Antwerp Classic Salon - Antwerpen (B)

In 1964, Jack Griffith fitted a Ford 289 into a modified TVR Grantura chassis and the first TVR Griffith was born. They became popular as race cars in the USA as they were fast with good handling. But they didn't have any luggage capacity and the doors are very narrow, so difficult to get in and out. Ventilation is poor and the heat-soak from the engine makes it worse. But a light car with too much power. Jab the throttle and it will go sideways!
TVR used the name again for it's 1990s sports car and the new production TVR will also be called Griffith.
Jack Griffith died in January 2017, aged 90.
