SVA Fiat 1500 F1 by Savonuzzi 1950
2015 Techno Classica - Essen (D)

SVA is an acronym for "Società Valdostana Automobili", a company founded in 1948 by Virgilio Conrero and Giovanni Savonuzzi, two Italians who went on to play an important role in Italian car history. This company was established for developing Cisitalia cars, mainly for competition. When Cisitalia ran into financial difficulties, they created some competition cars under their own banner.
Best known are a Formula 3 car with Moto Guzzi engine and this Formula 1 car, powered by a supercharged Fiat 1500 cc engine. It was run by a Swiss team named Scuderia Espadon and driven by Rudi Fischer. The car was entered in at least to Grand Prix: the Grand Prix of San Remo and the Grand Prix of Switzerland. Both races ended in failure; the car was fast but also unreliable. SVA was disbanded in 1951 and both partners went their separate ways.
