The second and last generation Hudson Hornet was introduced in 1955 and fitted with a body derived from Nash, abandoning the sleek "step-down" style that characterized Hudson in the early 1950s. It looked more conventional than the Nash since it didn't have the half covered wheels. Unfortunately sales were disappointing and in 1957 both the Hudson and Nash brands disappeared in favor of the more popular Rambler name which was in turn replaced by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) badge in 1969.
