The Strato-Chief was the entry-level full-size Pontiac model on the Canadian market. It was not part of Pontiac's European line-up and it's hardly found outside of Canada. The model range consisted out of a 2-door Sedan, a 4-door Sedan and a 4-door Safari wagon, which are all present on the colorful artwork above.
It was advertized as the low price Pontiac and came with the straight 6-cylinder Astro-Six 250 cid (4,096 cc) engine with 155 hp as standard, but the complete range of Pontiac V8s was available as an option. Although the base model it still had plenty of luxuries like dual padded sun visors, windshield washers, 2-speed electric windshield wipers, back-up lamps, seat belts and arm rests in front and rear and even keyless door locking. In fact, besides outside trim and interior finish and upholstery there wasn't much that distinguished it from the higher ranked model lines.

Besides its wonderful condition this car features the most powerful engine option: the 427 cid (6,997 cc) Jet-Flame V8 with 425 hp. There can't be many Strato-Chiefs with this engine around and I bet it's a thrill to drive.
According to Carl this car is very much like a Chevrolet Biscayne from the same model year.
